SUMMARY:Winning the Cyber War: A Battle Plan to Protect Your Practice
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nTuition Cost: AIDA members: $9.99 per person\nGeneral Admission: $19.99 per person \nCE: 1 Lecture CE Credits\nCE Code: 550\nPrerequisites: None \nCourse Description: \nWith the swift uptick in cyberattacks against the dental community this past year\, ensuring your practice is properly secured from digital intruders is a necessity. Over 90% of practices believe they are secure\, but in reality\, their cyber prevention measures fall short of truly protecting them from the latest sophisticated threats. Cybersecurity doesn’t need to be overly complex to implement\, and starting with a few simple security improvements can reduce your exposure significantly. \nThe growing number of digital technologies\, applications\, and cloud systems your practice utilizes can greatly increase the probability of a data breach. This course will teach you: how to identify the most common risks for a breach in your systems and processes\, help reduce vulnerabilities to minimize the likelihood of an attack and provide best practices to create an effective battle plan to improve security in your own practice. \nCourse Objectives: \n\nUnderstand the consequences of data theft faced by modern dental practices and learn how to safeguard patient records and other sensitive information from malicious hackers.\nDiscover the offensive and defensive breach prevention steps that all practices should be implementing with their staff and systems\nLearn the key elements of mitigating risk with any third-party vendors and technologies used by the practice and the importance of a documented incident response plan.\n\nAn interactive question and answer session will be held at the end of the course. \nMeet the Instructors: Dr. John Flucke\, DDS \nDr. John Flucke is in private practice in Lee’s Summit\, Missouri where he spends two days per week in direct patient care.  He also serves as Chief Dental Editor as well as Technology Editor for Dental Products Report magazine where he writes\, edits\, and does video “Test Drives” of products featured in his “Technology Evangelist’ columns. SUMMARY:The Soft Tissue Management Hygiene Series Part 2 of 3 – Pocket Decontamination: Evidence-Based Treatment Modalities
DESCRIPTION:Tuition Cost: AIDA members: $9.99 per person per session\nGeneral Admission: $19.99 per person per session \nCE: 1.5 Lecture CE Credits per session\nCE Code: 490\nPrerequisites: Not required\, you may attend each session ala carte  Part 3 – October 21 \nCourse Description: \nLet’s face it\, it can be challenging to get the entire team calibrated\, especially when it comes to our periodontal protocols. Often\, clinicians are left with performing a higher level of care than they bill out for due to the lack of clarify on the protocol\, lack of the verbal skills they need to tell a long-term “prophy” patient they are in a higher level of disease\, or not having the support from the business team to understand what needs to be submitted to insurance to enhance the patient’s coverage. This three-part series is designed to enhance the team approach to building a soft-tissue management program and will highlight the AAP classifications\, treatment modalities\, maintenance protocols\, risk assessment and management\, evidence-based practices\, and so much more. \nCourse Description Part 2: Pocket Decontamination: Evidence-Based Treatment Modalities October 7 \nRed complex bacteria are resistant to scaling and root planning alone. Therefore\, we must provide a comprehensive approach to the dangerous pathogens that have systemic effects on our patients. Often\, offices struggle to uphold the AAP recommendation to keep periodontal patients at a higher frequency of care. Patient compliance relies on them being able to experience a difference between their “regular cleanings” and periodontal therapy. Join me for this webinar as we discuss how to provide an evidence-based approach to soft tissue management both chairside and through homecare modalities. \nCourse Objectives Part 2: \n\nReview the biofilm burden and the systemic effects it has on the body\nDiscover how to differentiate the appointments from a prophy to a periodontal maintenance\nCompare chairside and homecare technologies to maximize clinical outcomes\nIdentify a road map of when and what to recommend based on the patient’s clinical case\n\nMeet the Instructors: Amber Auger RDH MPH \nAmber Auger is a practicing dental hygienist who specializes in detecting and treating dental dysbiosis conditions. With more than 17 years of experience in the dental industry\, she has a passion for guiding hygienists in enhancing their clinical confidence\, time and business management\, and whole-body\, patient-specific periodontal protocols. Amber is the 2019 Sunstar Award of Distinction recipient\, a contributor to “RDH Magazine”\, featured author for “DentistryIQ”\, editor of the “RDH Graduate” newsletter\, and the host of #AskAmberRDH. Amber is actively mentoring and educating fellow dental hygienists in their careers and in personal growth through Thrive in the Op® on-demand course curriculum and weekly live coaching sessions. Amber is also owner of the Functional RDH® certification that provides hands on and classroom lectures to identify the root cause of dental dysbiosis and ways in which to restore whole-body health based on the latest oral science.
